Get to know the Code of Virginia so you can advocate with knowledge about what is allowed and what is not regarding discipline policies and practices. Start with the section below -- they are short and very pointed. Follow the internal links as you see fit. These come DIRECTLY from Virginia's Legislative Information Service and are the most current code. Note where the school board has direct responsibility and where the legal term "MAY" is used.
